Connect BaliStay Loyalty to Mews

Mews is cloud-native and API-first, which makes its reservation events unusually clean to consume. BaliStay Loyalty receives Mews reservation webhooks, joins them to customer records, and turns completed stays into loyalty points and tier progress.

What syncs from Mews

  • Reservation and customer records joined on the Mews customer ID.
  • Customer email, name, phone and nationality code.
  • Stay window from the reservation start and end times, and the requested room category.
  • Total cost and currency, and the booking origin — which is what separates direct from OTA.
  • Reservation state, including the checkout event that triggers point accrual.

What you need to connect

  • A Mews API client token and access token, with the enterprise ID if your account spans more than one.
  • An inbound webhook in the Mews Connector API pointed at the BaliStay webhook endpoint.
  • A webhook secret shared between the two systems; inbound requests are verified against it.
  • Points are credited on the first transition of a stay into checked-out, so a retried webhook cannot double-credit a member.

Credentials the connection form asks for

  • clientToken — Client token (required). Mews API client token.
  • accessToken — Access token (required). Mews API access token.
  • enterpriseId — Enterprise ID (optional)
  • clientName — Client name (optional). Service account name shown in Mews.

Secrets are sealed with AES-256-GCM before storage and are never echoed back by the API.

What is not wired yet

Stated plainly because it affects how you plan the rollout.

  • Access token refresh. Mews tokens expire and BaliStay does not yet rotate them, so a long-lived connection needs its token renewed manually.
  • Outbound reservation pull. BaliStay consumes inbound events rather than polling the Mews API for stays.

Mews integration questions

Does the Mews integration support multiple properties?
The platform supports multi-property on the Pro plan. Each property holds its own connection with its own credentials and webhook secret, so one property never reads another property reservation stream.
How does BaliStay match a Mews reservation to a loyalty member?
By email address as the primary key, falling back to name and phone. Where a matching member exists, points accrue to that member and their stay history updates. Where one does not, a profile is created and the first award carries the welcome bonus.
What happens when a Mews access token expires?
Inbound webhooks keep working for as long as Mews can deliver them, because verification uses the shared webhook secret rather than your API token. Read-side API calls stop until the token is replaced. Automatic token refresh is not yet wired.
Does the Mews connection support Indonesian properties?
Yes. BaliStay Loyalty is built for properties in Bali and Indonesia, and prices are billed in rupiah. Mews itself has varying availability across the region, so confirm your property is on Mews before planning the migration.

Need a different PMS?

Cloudbeds and Mews are the two supported connections today. If you run something else, the inbound webhook contract is documented and we will scope a custom adapter during onboarding.
